Job Description:
Sales engineer will be the initial contact with customers in the manufacturing industry with packaging needs for standard steel containers, bins and customized racking systems for parts delivery from suppliers to assembly plants in North America.
With primary emphasis on the automotive industry, opportunities exist in other industries such as appliances, equipment and recreational vehicle market.
Sales engineer will have to have a working knowledge of the development of these products from design, prototype to production. Experience in fabrication is a plus and a working knowledge of manufactured products using steel is beneficial.
Relationship building is critical and position will require regular visits to existing customers throughout the south and southeast as well as to potential new customers.
Sales engineer must be a versatile individual capable of overseeing the development of new projects from the design, prototype phase to start of production.
Position is dynamic. Sales engineer will communicate with designers, prototype welders and the decisions makers of companies. He or she must be comfortable in a variety of circumstances.
Strong communication and project management skills are a must.
Administratively, this position will require planning and forecasting skills. Sales engineer will work with management to develop sales budgets and forecasts. They will communicate between departments schedule requirements from Design through Production.
