Job Qualifications:

Job Description / Requirements:
POSITION PURPOSE:
Welds parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with assembly drawings and procedures. Welds structural steel weldments using MIG/Flux core, TIG welding techniques for Battle Damage and/or crack repair on FPII vehicles. Performs all other given assignments or duties. Provides technical support and training to customers and users worldwide with a focus on system readiness. Support can also include technical assistance, advice, technical data collection and reporting.
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on vehicles and systems. Acts as a point of contact for problem identification and accident investigations. Provides technical assistance during testing, troubleshooting, repairing, de-processing, storing and assistance in shipping vehicles and their respective components during transition, and associated training support. Training could consist of system operation, assembly and subassembly troubleshooting, component and system fault isolation and repair.
Must be able to interpret and use all types of engineering drawings and schematics. Familiar with the use and operation of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Technically proficient in vehicle operation, maintenance and support. Ability to develop and present formal and informal training. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Assist Production Supervisor or Manager in making appropriate resource decisions.
• Responsible for following the processes provided by the FPI Quality management.
• Support positive communications.
• Responsible for departmental administrative tasks for work area.
• Must be able to read, interpret blueprints and pass welder/fitter test.
• Use of mechanical inspection measurement equipment, visual inspection of parts and documentation of the findings, ability to read drawings, and interpret industry standards.
• Required to travel OCONUS/CONUS with minimum lead time
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:
• U.S. Department of Education accredited high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred.
• 3 to 5 years technical, welding and fitting experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Certificated in GTAW and FCAW
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Team building skills, systems and process thinking.
• Must have an active Passport.
• Active DOD Secret security clearance is highly desired and preferred or you must be able to obtain and hold an interim clearance.
• If necessary, Employee must successfully complete pre-deployment medical and dental examinations and obtain necessary immunizations if the position requires relocation overseas.
