Job Qualifications:
• Strong Linux and Unix (AIX) experience
• Hands-on experience with WebSphere Application Server 6.0 or higher, including WAS clustering
• Hands-on experience with Apache HTTP Server
• Experience with WebSphere Commerce and/or WebSphere Portal
• Experience working with J2EE developers
• Experience with CA (formerly Netegrity) Siteminder a plus
• Experience with CA Introscope a plus
• Experience with PHP a plus
• Experience with LDAP servers
• Strong understanding of Java, JDBC, XML, HTTP SSH, SSL
• Experience with ant-based build scripts
• Knowledge of infrastructure/Networking components (Firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers)
• Ability to multitask, work independently as well as in a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with version control systems (CVS a plus)
• Python/Jython programming experience a plus

Job Description / Requirements:
• Work with development teams to create/configure new middleware instances required by the project, including web servers, application servers, and single-sign on via CA Siteminder.
• Execute performance tuning of WebSphere application server and IBM HTTP Server for optimal performance based on user load.
• Performing server clustering for load balancing and failover.
• Work with database administrators to tune application performance and session persistence.
• Monitoring performance and providing ongoing configuration and tuning adjustments.
• Build scripts for task automation, build support, scheduling, and file cleanup.
• Investigating, identifying, and installing fix packs.
• Installing product fixes for WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, WebSphere Commerce, WebSphere Portal, and CA Siteminder identified as vulnerable in security penetration tests.
• Performing setup and housekeeping jobs and tasks to minimize downtime and system disruptions.
• Troubleshoot problems related to web architecture and applications in conjunction with help desk, development teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors.
• Work with infrastructure teams to size, configure, and maintain middleware servers.
• Perform troubleshooting and/or configuration changes to resolve middleware issues.
• Works to support goals of team, willingly shares knowledge and skills.
• Completes all assigned tasks on time and within budget and quality standards.
• Understands when and how to escalate issues.
• Creates and updates functional designs, technical designs, and other project documentation.
• Responsible for support and maintenance of all developed code.
• Works with the business, IT management and business analysts to develop a thorough understanding of business project goals, challenges and objectives.
• Resolves all project and operational issues.
• Conducts user/IT training.
