Job Qualifications:

Minimum

12 years of experience or equivalent with increasing responsibility in the utility industry or other construction-related field
5 years experience in gas transmission construction and/or construction management
Direct experience leading teams
Desired
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
2 years of experience interfacing directly with regulatory and governmental agencies
Experience working in a union environment
Project management experience

Job Description / Requirements:

Leads geographically distributed teams in the timely and safe accomplishment of gas transmission construction work.
Improve Safety and Human Performance to include OSHA Recordable Rate, Lost Work Day Case Rate, Motor Vehicle Incident Rate, Premier/Pulse Survey, Performance Management and Process Improvements/Execution.

Deliver on Budget, on Plan, and on Purpose the Gas Transmission Capital Budget, Unit Costs, Labor Costs, Overtime, Project Schedule Milestones, Complete Critical Projects, and Complete Maintenance Plans.
Model the Core Values and the Leadership Competencies in every action and decision.
Create a work environment where innovative solutions to complex work issues are consistently developed.

Ensure that performance expectations are clear.
Provide timely feedback and hold subordinates accountable as well as reward superior performance. Identify and develop candidates for future leadership positions.

This position is responsible for leading the Gas Transmission Construction Management organization within Gas Operations. The position reports to the Vice President Gas Transmission Maintenance and Construction. The Director, GT Construction Management is responsible for safely constructing and maintaining PG&E's gas transmission pipeline facilities, which includes 6700 miles of gas transmission pipeline and 9 compressor stations. Construction work includes hydro testing, pipeline replacement,

Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure validation digs and in line inspections. The department also is responsible for the Apprentice Welder program and Welder development and deployment. The organization's team is primarily comprised of the following:
Gas Transmission General Construction superintendent, supervisors, utility workers, and clerical and support employees

Construction Management supervisor, construction managers, and contract administrators
Contract resources performing construction work on behalf of PG&E
